Healthy Recipes for Patients with Hyperlipidemia:

1. Mussels, Seaweed, and Lean Pork Soup

Ingredients: 180g lean pork, 90g mussels, 60g seaweed, soy sauce (to taste), light soy sauce (to taste), salt (to taste), cornstarch (to taste).

Instructions:
① Soak mussels in water until soft, then wash. Wash lean pork, slice into strips, and marinate for 10 minutes with soy sauce, light soy sauce, salt, and cornstarch. Tear seaweed into small pieces, stir-fry briefly to remove any fishy smell and sand, then soak in water and wash.

② Place mussels in a pot, add enough water, and simmer over low heat for 15 minutes. Add seaweed and bring to a boil again. Add lean pork strips and simmer until the pork is cooked. Season to taste and serve.

Efficacy and Indications: Lean pork is sweet and neutral in nature, and has the effect of nourishing yin and blood. When these three ingredients are combined into a soup, they nourish deficient yin fluids, clear stagnant heat and phlegm, and reduce upward-rising deficiency fire. ② Crush the ginger and place it in a cloth bag along with the scallions and peppercorns to make a spice bag.

③ Bring water to a boil in a pot, add the spice bag, cooking wine, and shrimp. Bring to a boil again, skim off any foam, remove the cloth bag, and place the shrimp in a serving dish.

Instructions:① Wash and clean the bok choy, cut it into 3cm sections, separating the stems and leaves; cut the fried tofu into cubes.

② Heat oil in a wok. Once hot, sauté the bok choy stems with salt, then add the leaves and stir-fry. Add the fried tofu and stir-fry together. Add soy sauce and a little water and bring to a boil. Add sugar, and finally, mix cornstarch with water and pour it into the wok to thicken the sauce.

This substance can effectively lower blood lipids and also has the effects of weight loss and prevention of arteriosclerosis. Therefore, it is very beneficial for patients with hyperlipidemia to eat soy products regularly.
