Latent Signs of Diabetes:

Hand and Foot Blisters:If a person suddenly develops blisters on their hands, feet, toes, and the extensor surfaces of their lower legs, resembling burns but without pain or itching, it could be a sign of latent diabetes.

Brown Spots on the Anterior Tibia: This condition is common in patients with mild diabetes. It manifests as oval-shaped brown spots on the anterior tibial region of the lower legs, accompanied by mild atrophy. About 10% of these cases may also involve diabetic neuropathy.

Hair Loss:Hair loss is a common consequence of malnutrition in diabetic patients, making it a latent sign of diabetes. It should not be ignored; a medical examination is necessary to rule out diabetes before starting treatment.

Reddish Facial Complexion: A reddish facial complexion is a sign of latent diabetes. While typical diabetic patients show no abnormal changes in complexion before or after the onset of the disease, most patients with latent diabetes have a reddish complexion. Therefore, a radiant complexion is not necessarily a sign of good health. Skin itching: Approximately one-tenth of early-stage diabetes patients experience persistent, localized or generalized skin itching, most severely affecting the vulva and anus.

Most patients with latent diabetes may experience unexplained tongue pain or a diamond-shaped papillary defect in the center of the tongue (i.e., no tongue coating). These symptoms require serious attention and thorough investigation.

Patients with latent diabetes often develop pale red, fingernail-sized, hard, ring-shaped granulomas on the backs of their hands and feet. If these symptoms occur, prompt medical examination is necessary.
