Bitter Melon: Benefits in Lowering Blood Pressure, Blood Sugar, and Cholesterol: Bitter melon is exceptionally high in Vitamin C, which helps maintain blood vessel elasticity, effectively lowers blood pressure, and reduces the levels of low-density lipoprotein and triglycerides in the body. The saponins in bitter melon have the function of rapidly lowering blood sugar, regulating insulin, repairing β cells, increasing insulin sensitivity, preventing and improving complications, and enhancing immunity.


Remedies

1. High Blood Pressure: 100g bitter melon, 50g fresh yam, 200ml milk, 20ml honey. Cut the bitter melon open, remove seeds, wash, and slice. Peel and wash the yam, cut into small pieces. Put the bitter melon, yam, and milk into a blender and blend quickly into a puree. Boil in a pot, add honey, and drink. One dose daily, divided into two servings, morning and evening.


◆Lemon Bitter Melon Tea
Main ingredients: 30g bitter melon, 6g lemongrass, 6g lotus leaf.

Seasoning: Honey to taste. Instructions:

1. Slice the bitter melon and boil it in hot water.

2. Add lotus leaves and lemongrass, steep for 10 minutes, then add honey and drink.

3. One dose daily, divided into two warm servings.

◆ Bitter Melon with Almonds

Main ingredient: 200g bitter melon.

Auxiliary ingredient: 20g almonds.

Seasoning: 2g salt, 1g MSG, appropriate amount of sesame oil.

Instructions:

1. Wash the bitter melon, slice it, and blanch it.

2. Soak the almonds in lightly salted water for 20 minutes, then place them in a container with the bitter melon, add salt, MSG, and sesame oil, and mix well.

3. Night blindness: Wash and slice carrots, steam until cooked, and eat as much as desired.

4. Acute jaundice hepatitis: 120g dried carrot tops (250g fresh), decocted in water, taken twice daily for 7 days. Nutritional Benefits
Carrots are rich in carotene, which can help eliminate free radicals in the blood and intestines, thus preventing cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. Therefore, for patients with coronary heart disease and hypertension, eating carrots daily can help protect their cardiovascular health. After being ingested by the digestive system, carotene can be converted into Vitamin A, an essential substance for normal bone growth and development, and it also helps with cell proliferation and growth. The lignin in carrots can also enhance the body's immune system and indirectly eliminate cancer cells.

1. High Blood Pressure: Drink about 1000 ml of carrot juice daily, divided into several servings. Alternatively, wash and chop fresh carrots, cook them with rice porridge, and eat once a day. This can be done regularly.

2. High Blood Lipids, High Blood Pressure, Obesity: Juice 500g of carrots and 100g of cucumber and drink the juice.

◆Corn, Carrot, and Ham Stew
Main Ingredients: 150g of ham, 50g each of corn and carrots, 10g of sweet peas. Additional Ingredients: 5g each of scallion and minced ginger, 50ml of clear broth.

Seasonings: 3 ml butter, 15 g sugar, 1 g salt, 1 g pepper, 10 g cornstarch, cooking oil, sesame oil, and MSG to taste.

Instructions:
1. Dice carrots and ham, and blanch them along with corn and sweet peas.

2. Heat a little oil in a pot, add butter and sauté chopped scallions and ginger until fragrant. Add corn, carrots, diced ham, and sweet peas, stir-fry briefly, add chicken broth and bring to a boil. Season with salt, MSG, sugar, and pepper. Thicken with a little cornstarch slurry and drizzle with sesame oil.

◆Carrot and Millet Porridge
Main Ingredients: 100 g millet, carrot
Instructions:
1. Wash millet and peel and shred carrots.

2. Bring water to a boil, add millet and shredded carrots, and cook for 15 minutes, or until the millet is soft and sticky.
